After five plus years with the Etsy marketplace, Prima Materia opened the new online boutique primamateriaballet.com ! I am now independent! One thing, however, does not change. I do everything myself, from designing, patterning, material sourcing, sewing and production to dispatching and shop maintenance, and looking after my Kitty cat and better half.
As the first blog post, I would like to talk about plus-size and custom-size leotards. And this is what makes Prima Materia stand out from the crowd.
Firstly, please have a look at the sizing charts. Some dancers find their bodies do not fit in one conventional size but over-cross more than one size, for example, the width S and the length M. Others are curvy ballerinas.
Because I create everything, I can adjust sizing relatively easily. I have custom size options for the S-M-L custom and XL-custom. Just choose one of these options and note your body measurements.
