Reece Clarke to debut at Paris Opera Ballet in Onegin

Opéra national de Paris announced on 4th February 2025 that Reece Clarke will perform the title role of Onegin as a guest artist, making his debut with Paris Opera Ballet.

The Royal Ballet Principal will perform Eugene Onegin on 10th February at Palais Garnier.

Paris Opera Ballet Étoile Hannah O’Neill will make a role debut as Tatiana, according to Reece’s Instagram post on 4th February.

“Beyond excited to announce that I will make my debut at Palais Garnier @balletoperadeparis as Onegin alongside @hannah87oneill as she makes her debut as Tatiana. It’s such an honour to even think about performing on that magnificent stage and to be part of Hannah’s special evening makes it all the more exciting 🌟

Our first performance will be on February 10th! “

The Paris Opera Ballet website shows a “n.n.” for Eugene Onegin’s role on 17th February while Hannah is casted for Titiana. I suspect this is their second performance.

Reece’s home Royal Ballet in London is running Onegin simultaneously and he is also casted as Eugene Onegin. It seems he is unstoppable nowadays.

Very personal note: When Sylvie Guillem was with the Royal Ballet, Paris Opera dancers were invited to perform principal roles with her. I had a huge privilege to watch her Manon with Nicolas Le Riche as Des Grieux. The applause was the loudest I have ever experienced to this day. The whole auditorium vibrated. But nowadays, Paris Opera invites dancers from the Royal Ballet, such as Marcelino Sambé and Marianela Nuñez. Absolutely brilliant.
