Opéra national de Paris cancelled the premiere of Paquita on 5th December 2024 at Opéra Bastille due to labour disputes between ballet dancers and the management.
Opéra national de Paris said on its website, “Due to the work stoppage of Ballet dancers, the performance of Paquita scheduled for Thursday 5 December 2024 at 8pm has been cancelled. We wish to apologize and to propose a refund.”

Malgré les efforts déployés pour maintenir cette représentation, les propositions présentées par la direction n’ont pas été acceptées. Cette dernière souligne qu’il ne lui était pas possible de répondre à l’ensemble des revendications exprimées, dans le cadre de ses contraintes économiques, pour des raisons d’équité avec l’ensemble des salariés de l’établissement.
