Eleanor Moore (Tyers), Scottish Ballet’s first Scottish Principal dancer, passed away, the company announced.
It is not clear when she passed away. The Glasgow-based company’s post on its Instagram is dated 31st January 2025. The company dedicated the shows of The Nutcracker performances in early February to her.
Eleanor Moore joined the company in 1972 and danced iconic roles in The Nutcracker, Romeo and Juliet, Swan Lake, and other. Many roles were created on her by Scottish Ballet founder Peter Darrell.
Eleanor met Paul Tyers at the company, marrying him in 1979.
