Staats Ballett Berlin (the Berlin State Ballet) annouced promotions at the start of the 2024-2025 season.
Weronika Frodyma, Haruka Sassa, and Martin ten Kortenaar have been promoted to Principal Dancers.
Danielle Muir and Kalle Wigle have been promoted to Soloists.
Marina Duarte, Gregor Glocke, Leroy Mokgatle, and Clotilde Tran are promoted to Demi-Soloists.
Congratulations to you all! Personally, I cannot take eyes off of Leroy, who is rewriting the definition ballet.
These latest promotions may symbolise a generational change in the Berlin State Ballet. Now three of the four Principals are the newly promoted dancers.
Ksenia Ovsyanick and Elisa Carrillo Cabrera left the company at the end of the last season. Iana Salenko has become a Principal Guest artist.
