Kentaro Mitsumori and Marcelo Gomes will join the Vienna State Ballet (Wiener Staatsballett) from the 2025-2026 season, they announced in their respective Instagram posts on 12th April 2025.

These announcements followed similar announcements that Victor Caixeta and American Ballet Theatre (ABT) Principal Cassandra Trenary would join the Austrian ballet company as Alessandra Ferri would assume the position of the artistic director in September.

Kentaro Mitsumori is currently a principal dancer with the Royal Swedish Ballet.

Marcelo Gomes joined ABT, where Ferri was a principal dancer, in 1997. He was a principal from 2002 to 2017, often partnering with her. He was an interim Artistic Manager of the Semperoper Ballett in Dresden, Germany, until June 2024. It is not specified to what position he is designated with the Vienna State Ballet.

At least one more name may follow them because a header image of a page of the Vienna State Ballet website shows the phenomenal Madison Young, who is currently Principal of the Bayerisches Staatsballett. See the screenshot below. (There has been an update. Click here.)
